Encouragement and Amazing JIS Day

Sometimes it just takes some words of encouragement in a loving way to achieve your goals... In this video, our son takes a "leap of faith" after some fatherly advice... Baruch HaShem (Thank G-d), yesterday alone I was also able to encourage 32 people from 16 cities to complete a Jump Into Shape class to burn over 8,000 calories... They completed live classes and/or videos on demand from Edison, Fair Lawn, West Orange, Pleasanton, Bergenfield, Teaneck, Memphis, Monsey, Brookl

THOUGHT ON MOTIVATION

THOUGHT ON MOTIVATION - With help from Above, I have been able to motivate 161 people to complete 4,058 classes and burn 835,971 calories so far in 2022... I never took a class or the like on motivation, so what is going on? I think it comes down to a few basic things: 1) I never pray for success, but rather that G-d should "show" me what I should pursue 2) Our instructors do every second of every class while talking and encouraging the members during live classes 3) Jump In

IS A HOSPITAL A HOUSE OF HEALING OR A HOUSE OF SICK PEOPLE?

IS A HOSPITAL A HOUSE OF HEALING OR A HOUSE OF SICK PEOPLE? As I left the hospital yesterday after visiting a very close relative who has been in the hospital for most of the last few months, I was reminded of a teaching I heard in the name of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson... The Rebbe said it is better to call a hospital a Bais Refuah (House of Healing) than a Bais Cholim (House of Sick People)... The way I learned it is that the Rebbe tried to view every

DO HAVE "VASIKIN SYNDROME"?

I just made up this term so I doubt you have any idea what it is... it's related to pushing ourselves to achieve and accomplish more to reach our goals... For years I have been praying at the vasikin minyan - Jewish prayer service in the morning that is timed to get to the most important prayer as the sun is rising... The starting time of the service changes from about 7am in the winter to about 5am in the summer... There is a period of time in the winter and the summer that

A STORY ABOUT OUR MEMBER YOSEF

A STORY ABOUT OUR MEMBER YOSEF* - Yosef has been a member of Jump Into Shape for about 2 years…. the first year he was very consistent, doing 2-3 classes per week… the next year was different… he had a slight injury, changed jobs, busy with family, and was still serving as the volunteer president of a huge organization… suffice to say I didn’t see Yosef at our classes much in the last year… how did I react? The same as I do with all our members - sent messages to gently push

HAVE A BUSINESS IDEA - DON'T LISTEN TO EVERYONE'S ADVICE

HAVE A BUSINESS IDEA - DON'T LISTEN TO EVERYONE'S ADVICE - When I first started Jump Into Shape, people laughed at me that I was starting a fitness program (some still laugh)... did I listen? Yes and no - YES to the ones that wanted to offer advice, guidance and thoughtful insights - I listend with both ears to see how I could be successful... NO to the ones that just said I was crazy and it was a waste of my time - I just ignored them as they were usually echoing their own i

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CLASS?

Baruch HaShem (Thank G-d) I am blessed a million times over to teach close to 20 classes each week for Jump Into Shape (yes, I am completely exhausted by the end of the last class, but I try not to show it..)... I've been asked what is my favorite class... There are 2 answers - my favorite to teach and my favorite to "attend"... My favorite to teach is any class I see one of our members making progress... It's most likely to occur at a beginner class when a new member jumps 2

David Hunt joins for a class

What a special opportunity we had last week as David Hunt / Crossrope was a special guest at our intense class. I am eternally grateful to David for fighting overseas TWICE to defend America and for everything he has done to help Jump Into Shape grow over the years. Enjoy our conversation after the class. Thank you and many blessings, Moshe #crossrope, #jumpintoshape, #jumprope, #exercise, #fitness

SHOUT OUT, SNEAKERS AND LESSONS LEARNED

A huge SHOUT OUT to inov-8 and founder Wayne Edy and my contact Edelin Vian Bulmer. I'll admit, I never even heard of Inov-8 sneakers until I read an article by Crossrope about different sneakers they recommend for jumping. Now, I ONLY recommend them. Look at the sneakers below in the pictures - they have done about 1,000 (yes, 1,000) Jump Into Shape classes. I think only now do I have to replace them. Besides being great sneakers, perhaps there are other lessons learned:

What a day!

Baruch HaShem (Thank G-d) what a day yesterday... 30 members from California to Eretz Yisrael completed a class (to think I was disappointed that no one showed up at 10:35pm last night)... The 12:30pm class has 5 people from 5 cities... In May 82 people have done 593 classes... I think HaShem (G-d) wants me to help lead others to healthier lives rather than learn ALL day... (I still get many hours per day to learn)... Thank you and many blessings, Moshe PS - any you? #fun

PESACH SHENI (The 2nd Pesach)

PESACH SHENI (The 2nd Pesach) There are so many things we can say about Pesach Sheni which started at nightfall today, but let's keep it simple. Some of the Jewish people were not able to bring the original Pesach offering and raised their concerns to Moshe. Moshe asked HaShem (G-d) and He said don't worry 30 days later on Pesach Sheni they will have another chance (unless they missed the first chance on purpose). What's the simple lesson? If you mess up, make a second chanc
