Teachers and parents love using contests to encourage kids to study, behave, and complete their homework.
At Jump Into Shape, Iāve taken that same approachā¦ but for adults!Ā š You might think that grown-ups understand the importance of exercise and will naturally make time for it. So why should I spend money on prizes?
Answer:Ā FOMO.
Letās be realāadults love seeing their names on the leaderboardĀ and milestones sectionĀ (another motivation tool we use). And when the wheel of namesĀ spins for one of our prizesāwhether itās a book š, cutting board šŖ, cash š°, exercise equipment šļøāāļø, or another cool rewardāthey want in.
Of course, adults knowĀ that exercising gives them more energy, reduces stress, and helps them accomplish more. But life gets busy.Ā Work, family, and responsibilities pile up, and exercise gets pushed aside. Even though they logically understand that just 15 minutes of movement can shift their whole day, that little voice inside still whispers, Eh, maybe later.
And thatās where we come in. š
That email, text, or voice messageĀ from Jump Into Shape (or from me personally) saying, āHey, you better qualify for this contest!āĀ suddenly flips the switch. And just like that, they show up for a class.
š„ What about you?Ā Does your exercise program offer any contests to keep you motivated?
