Investing 101

Okay, friends, this is quite a chart. You might wonder why I chose $200. I’m guessing that’s about how much I spent in a year on baseball cards, and that’s being conservative; I probably spent more. I still have the cards, but I don’t have the Microsoft stock. That was 1986, more or less when Michael J. Fox was traveling back and forth to the future, the past, wherever he was going. This is 2026, 40 years later.

So why is that relevant? For a very simple reason: money is not the most important thing in the world. Our health is. Let me rephrase that: our connection to G-d is, and our health is very, very high up there, I would say before our money. So it doesn’t matter what stage you’re at in your exercise and health journey. Let’s worry about one thing: HaYom (means Today in Hebrew). Let’s worry about today. What are you going to do today to truly invest in your health for the future? Just like that $200 invested in Microsoft stock, with the dividends reinvested, could grow to $1.4 million, every time you exercise and eat right, it has a cumulative effect. But you have to do it.

So I give you a blessing that you eat healthy the rest of today, get your heart rate up, and do some resistance training. Of course, I recommend one of our Jump into Shape classes, but there are many other options as well.

Many blessings that you continue to build that cumulative effect in your health until 120!
