From 9/11 to Kidney Donation

A little over a year ago, when I began the process of donating a kidney, I never thought there was any connection between that decision and surviving 9/11.
That changed during the medical screening process. As I met with doctors to ensure I was physically, emotionally, and mentally prepared, something clicked. I realized that while I can never truly repay Hashem for saving my life on 9/11, maybe this was an opportunity to give life to someone else.
For 25 years, I’ve been living with a life I was gifted. And here was a chance to use a small part of that gift to literally save another person. That realization was eye-opening.
Baruch Hashem, the process was smooth—from my initial swab to donation, it took about six months, and the recovery was easier than I ever expected.
Now I’d like to ask something of you:
👉 Consider swabbing to become a kidney donor
👉 Or consider making a donation to support future transplants through Renewal
The work Renewal does is beyond comprehension. Just last week alone, they facilitated 8 transplants—and 4 more yesterday.
Each transplant costs about $20,000, and the care, coordination, and compassion they provide is truly extraordinary.
If you’re able, please consider donating—any amount makes a difference.
💡 As a small token of appreciation: anyone who donates $180 will be entered into a raffle to win 6 months free of Jump Into Shape.
You can help save a life—and maybe improve your own along the way.
Thank you, and many blessings,
Moshe
